Bass Fishing and Network Marketing

I have many things I am passionate about and after family and grand kids I really love bass fishing and network marketing.   While on the lake the other day and it came to me how similar fishing and network marketing were. I also realized that to be successful in either there are certain things and techniques you must learn and do on a regular basis. Learning never stops.

If you were to go to a lake, put your boat in the water and immediately start randomly casting around you, you may catch a fish. The chances of doing that are very low to almost zero. Same with your network marketing techniques. You need to focus your attention on the where and how you approach your business.

There is an old saying that 90% of the bass are only in 10% of the water on almost any given lake. I've found that to be very true over the years. Are you placing your adds and marketing your business just randomly where potential prospects can learn about your business? Are you just randomly throwing something out there in hopes that someone will come along and find your message?

Tip:  "Some 83% of American adults own cell phones and three-quarters of them (73%) send and receive text messages. The Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project asked those texters in a survey how they prefer to be contacted on their cell phone and 31% said they preferred texts to talking on the phone."  Pew Research Center - Americans and Texting

Have you tried sending a simple text message to your friends and acquaintances? A simple "I've started my own business that I work from home. Wanna check it out?" It takes some of the fear many have when talking face to face with a prospect or directly talking on the phone.

As with bass fishing there are dozens of techniques I've used to entice a fish to bite what I am offering. There are time it really doesn't matter and they will jump on anything that's presented and then there are times you really have to be patient and coax the fish into accepting my presentation. You will come across folks like that while marketing your business.  Some are very interested right from the start and are ready to join with your business organization while others may be interested but wish to look a little deeper into what you are offering. That's OK. Just be patient and provide the information they may need.

You will find while marketing your business there are some things you are just better at doing than others. Focus your efforts on what you do best but don't ignore other ways to market your business or product. Have you started your own blog or used the social networks to market yourself or your business opportunity? Have you made worthwhile post and replies in forums to build credibility? Offer something of value in your post and replies. Not blatant adds for your business. How about publishing your own articles. They are easier to do than you may think. Or have someone do them for you. You can find many places on the net that will even write and publish an article, in YOUR name, then submit to the dozens of directories and places that accept them.

Tip:  Pictures are great additions for your lead capture page, add, or forum post because they help you develop trust and credibility with your audience. It just adds a more personal touch to those viewing your information. Videos can be very effective in appropriate places.

Instead of randomly throwing your business or product out there it is far better to attract someone to take a look at what you are offering. Offer your potential prospect something of value. Why will the prospect want to look further into what you have to offer. This could be real benefits of the product or business you promote, an e-book, or series of interesting emails. On one of my pages I offer a great E-book titled "MLM Lead Secrets". It is jam packed with ways to market your business using all means of marketing on the internet today and things to avoid and not do.

Tip: Are you throwing potential prospects in the garbage can every day?  Here is how I turn that "junk" mail into hot prospects for my business simply by mailing out a few cost, effective postcards.

Stay focused on your network marketing opportunity. As you surf through the internet you will find literally thousands of "guaranteed" ways of building your business. Before you realize it you may have joined many affiliate marketing programs. Not knocking them but I'm not online to promote some affiliate program.  Most will only lead you away from what you are trying to do which is having someone join your business.  I'm only in one affiliate program but I don't actively promote it. It's use mainly for the tools it gives me to market my business.

Thanks for the visit and do have a great day.

Sincerely,

Scottie Franklin
